Japanese Garden
Gardeners and planters across the world are growing more and more interested in creating a Japanese garden. Although, this type of garden is often misunderstood by those don’t understand the culture. Unlike the west, the emphasis is not place on big, bright, and beautiful flowers.
In a Japanese garden the foliage, form and structure of the garden is the key to the beauty. This results in a peaceful simple garden that is still equal to the beauty of the elaborate flower gardens, which is why it is catching on so quickly around the world. Chinese Feng Shui gardens are also similar to this and are growing in popularity.
Japanese gardens are characterized by stones, water, unusual plants, and a minimal amount of color. They are designed to promote inner peace and serenity. Bamboo is a popular plant to use in these types of gardens.
There are many different books available that teach you how to create the perfect Japanese type of garden, but make sure you find one that will match your knowledge of gardening. Some are written for people that have a high level of plant knowledge and assumes you know a bit more than the basics. Others are made for those just starting out, and may seem tedious to you if you if you have been gardening for a while.
